L’il Wheels Daycare is a 10,000 square foot facility located in City Place in downtown Winnipeg. It is a daycare with licensed child-care spaces; infant spots and pre-school spots. Each room is designed with a different theme to help children identify with the room in which they belong. Considerations for safety and security and adherence to Manitoba Daycare Design Requirements was of utmost importance. The design process included functional and architectural programming.
The design theming is based on a Prairie outdoor landscape scenery. This was also the first daycare designed to include an outdoor rooftop play area.
